The school –

This is a large primary, nursery and pre-school in Stevenage, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Pastoral care, protective behaviours and the well-being of their community is integral in the school’s vision for education. The school has an enthusiastic, supportive and friendly team. Teaching is child focused with a rich and broad curriculum.

They currently have 502 children on role from 2 years to 11 years old. The school is built on a historical hill with large, green and spacious grounds- they even have a converted bus as an outdoor classroom! 

The role –

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic class teacher who would like to join our school on a full-time permanent basis from September 2024. We are looking for dynamic, kind and caring individuals who have the drive and commitment to work within our team to make a difference to our young people’s lives and provide memorable fun learning experiences for the pupils. This role could include a Phase Leadership responsibility for the right candidate with an additional TLR payment.  

  • Additional release time for subject leaders and access to coaching.  
  • Policies that value teacher workload and wellbeing such our marking and feedback policy which promotes ‘in the moment marking/verbal feedback’.  
  • Established and well-resourced curriculum with prewritten medium-term plans. 
  • Two form entry Primary where planning workload is shared.  
  • A thorough induction, mentor and access to the National College online CPD library to support own professional development.  
  • Experienced subject leaders who are knowledgeable and supportive.  
  • No expectation to produce written daily plans.  
  • Supportive leadership who takes appropriate actions to ensure a work/life balance  
  • Opportunity to access high quality CPD throughout the year and NPQs. 
  • Expectations around teaching and learning, that are research based, including annual whole school-based action research project.  
  • Chance to work in collaboration with staff across the Trust to share good practice and reduce workload.  
  • Fully cloud based IT system and own laptop.
